I’m Iftekhar Ahmed, also known as Ifty Ahmed. I grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and now study computer science at Rice University in Houston.
At Rice, I researched ransomware attacks on U.S. healthcare systems and their financial impact with Professor Cyrus Aghamolla at the Jones Graduate School of Business. I also worked with Dr. Elizabeth Eich on research involving digital engagement, behavioral analytics, and event participation.
Alongside my research, I co-founded Diagnos with a bunch of friends from our dorm to make personalised healthcare more accessible to everyone. We spent the summer of 2025 at OwlSpark, Rice Alliance's startup accelerator, trying to get Diagnos off the ground. The experience got me much more serious about startups, although I eventually decided not to pursue Diagnos further.
Since then, my interests have shifted toward computer vision, AI surveillance, and secure real-time communication. I'm currently building Qube, a secure virtual meeting room designed to protect sensitive conversations and shared work from unauthorised AI agents and recording tools.
